Private English classes
Conversation classes in:
Sarria-Sant Gervasi (Barcelona), Granollers, La Seu d'Urgell
My name is John. I'm from Ireland, and I now live in Spain, where I have accumulated lots of
experience
teaching English. Currently, I teach in Sarria-Sant Gervasi, Granollers, and La Seu d'Urgell. The type of class depends on the needs of students; some prefer
conversation classes, while others wish to prepare for a Cambridge exam, an important job interview, or travel to an English speaking country.
In the case of exam preparation, the priority would be to focus on writing, reading, speaking and listening.
There are many benefits to being fluent in English, especially in the context of international travel, or in certain professions which require a good level of English. In general, any person who already speaks their own native language fluently, is capable of reaching a very fluent level in any new language they decide to learn. The most important thing is to be motivated, and have a strong desire to learn.
Another advantage to learning is that it means exercising our cognitive abilities by learning new things, whether it involves a language, science, maths, philosophy, etc.
Learning a language is a means of improving our memory. For example, when you learn a new word for the first time, you will immediately forget it, which is absolutely normal. However, the second or third time you relearn this same word, you may at least recognise it, even if you still don't fully understand it. Finally, after seeing the new word a few more times, you will know it, and probably remember it, provided that you continue using your new language.
